restorative justice in elementary schools

In the summer of 2024 Dr. Emerson has an internal grant to conduct a review of literature with two students about restorative justice. In the summer of 2025 she has an external grant from the Marion & Jasper Whiting Foundation to travel to New Zealand and Australia to learn about restorative justice in their schools.

Drawing upon the Instagram account @teachermisery and focus groups with teachers nationwide, Dr. Emerson is exploring teachers’ experiences in professional development. In this project she draws upon Sara Ahmed’s work around Complaint!

book proposal

Out of her dissertation, Dr. Emerson is preparing a book proposal about antiracist DEI work in NYC schools.
